Born on 6 July, 1935, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso was recognized at the age of two, as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama and considered to be the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), the Bodhisattva of Compassion.

His Holiness is universally respected as a Buddhist leader and advocate for a compassionate and peaceful world. He is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for global environmental problems. 

His Holiness is the spiritual guide of our director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and it is the wish of FPMT to help fulfil the Dalai Lama’s wishes in accomplishing world peace and global responsibility.

第十四世达赖喇嘛尊者. 丹增嘉措生于公元1935年7月6日，西藏。尊者在两岁时被认定是第十三世达赖喇嘛的转世，并被视为观世音菩萨的化身。尊者一生致力倡导世界和平与非暴力的理念，深受全球各界的尊重与敬仰。尊者不仅是全球佛教徒心中的精神导师，更因其无私奉献与坚定推动和平与非暴力的理念，荣膺诺贝尔和平奖，成为首位因关注世界和平获得表彰的诺贝尔奖得主。尊者亦为喇嘛梭巴仁波切的精神导师。因此，FPMT致力于延续达赖喇嘛尊者的愿力，推动实现世界和平与全球共同责任。

Lama Thubten Yeshe was born in 1935. At the age of six, he entered Sera Monastic University in Tibet where he studied until 1959. Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, together as teacher and disciple in India, met their first Western students in 1967. In 1971, they settled at Kopan, near Kathmandu in Nepal where they built Kopan monastery for monks and nuns and for the lay community to attend teachings and retreats.

In 1974, the Lamas began touring and teaching in the West, which led to the establishment of The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). Today, FPMT has over 160 centres world wide, including Rinchen Jangsem Ling.

Lama Yeshe died in 1984. His teachings have been preserved at Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive, and most are freely available through the archive website below.

Born in the Mount Everest region of Thami in 1946, Lama Zopa Rinpoche was recognised as the reincarnation of the great yogi Kunsang Yeshe. He was then taken under the care of FPMT’s founder Lama Thubten Yeshe in Buxa Duar, India, in the early 1960’s. Rinpoche was with Lama Yeshe until 1984 when Lama Yeshe passed away and Rinpoche took over as spiritual director of FPMT. Since then, under his peerless guidance, FPMT has continued to flourish.

A Buddhist scholar and meditator, Rinpoche is a highly regarded lama and loved by thousands of students around the world.  He travels across the globe, including visits to Malaysia and Rinchen Jangsem Ling, tirelessly giving teachings, leading retreats, guiding and benefiting all sentient beings.

Geshe Tenzin Zopa holds the honoured Geshe (Doctorate) degree from Sera Jey Monastic University, South India. He was born in the remote Himalayan region of Tsum valley in Nepal and was ordained at the age of 9 in Kopan Monastery by the late Great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog. 

Geshela possesses vast scriptural knowledge, holds many rare transmissions and initiations lineages, has completed many retreats, extensive teaching experience and is skilled in rituals and astrology. Geshela has also undertaken many meaningful projects for many years.

He is the principal and focal point of the award winning documentary film titled ''Unmistaken Child" which chronicles the search for the reincarnation of his master Geshe Lama Konchog. Now he is taking responsibility of overseeing the overall wellbeing of H.E Tulku Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche, the reincarnation of late Great Mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog. He has frequently taken part as a speaker at many Buddhist, interfaith and peace dialogue conferences for many years. He has taught at Oxford University (UK) under "Visitorship for Traditional Scholars" in the Tibetan and Himalayan Studies program. Since 2000 he has been actively been teaching in FPMT centers as a visiting and resident teacher. Currently, he is serving as a touring teacher for the FPMT centers.

格西·天津梭巴
